What to Expect at the Lab

Most visits take 15 minutes or less. Here is how to prepare so everything goes smoothly.

Before the visit

  • 🍔 Fast for 8 hours before your appointment. Water is fine. Coffee and alcohol are not.
  • 🏋 Skip exercise (bike rides & sex included)

Morning of your visit

  • 🥛 Drink at least 4 cups of water before you go. Good hydration makes the draw faster and easier.

At the visit

  • 🩸 Expect 12 to 14 vials. That is normal for a panel this size.

After the visit

  • 🍜 Drink water and eat a healthy snack. Your body just did some work.
  • 🏋 Wait 12 to 24 hours before any heavy lifting or cardio.

No. Most Quest Diagnostics locations accept walk-ins during business hours. Scheduling an appointment online is recommended to avoid wait times.

Bring a valid photo ID. If your test requires fasting, avoid food and drinks other than water for 8–12 hours before your visit.

The draw itself takes about 5 minutes. Most visits, including check-in and paperwork, are done in 15 minutes or less.

No. A licensed physician reviews and approves all lab orders on your behalf. You order directly through the Rite Aid website. No separate doctor visit needed.

The annual membership is $349 per year. You pay $1 to start. The remaining $348 is charged when your first results are ready. Two blood draws, plain-language results, and a personalized action plan are all included.

Most results are ready in 2–5 business days. You will get a notification as soon as they are available in your portal.
