Anti-Aging and Longevity Peptides
Medically reviewed by the Rite Aid Health Team · Last updated June 16, 2026
"Anti-aging peptides" covers several distinct mechanisms, not one. Some target the cellular machinery of aging — telomeres and mitochondria. Some target the visible signs — skin and collagen. And some counter the growth-hormone decline that comes with age. Here they are by mechanism, with the blood work that tracks an aging-focused cycle. If you're still comparing goals, start with our peptide therapy guide.

How the longevity options differ
| Peptide | Mechanism | Studied for | Route |
|---|---|---|---|
| Epitalon | Telomere / pineal regulation | Longevity, sleep, circadian rhythm | Compounding pathway under 2026 review |
| MOTS-c | Mitochondrial function, metabolism | Metabolic aging, insulin sensitivity | Compounding pathway under 2026 review |
| GHK-Cu | Copper peptide; collagen, repair | Skin aging, wound healing | Compounding pathway under 2026 review |
| Sermorelin / CJC-1295 | Growth-hormone release | Age-related GH/IGF-1 decline | Sermorelin: established prescription |
Epitalon — the telomere peptide
Epitalon (epithalon) is the peptide most associated with longevity research. It's studied for effects on telomerase activity, the pineal gland, and circadian regulation. The human evidence base is early and largely from a small body of older research, so it should be treated as exploratory.
MOTS-c — mitochondrial aging
MOTS-c is a mitochondrial-derived peptide. Mitochondrial decline is one of the recognized hallmarks of aging, and MOTS-c is studied for its effects on metabolic function and insulin sensitivity. Evidence is mostly preclinical.
GHK-Cu — the skin and repair peptide
GHK-Cu is a copper-binding peptide with the most direct anti-aging evidence on this page, on the visible side: collagen synthesis, skin remodeling, and wound healing. It's used both topically and as an injectable. For skin-specific use cases, compare routes in peptides for skin and hair.
Growth-hormone decline with age
Growth hormone and IGF-1 fall with age, and that decline is part of what people target with sermorelin and cjc-1295. These growth-hormone releasers raise your own GH rather than replacing it, and IGF-1 is the biomarker that shows whether they're working.
How they work for longevity
These peptides act on different recognized mechanisms of aging — telomere maintenance (epitalon), mitochondrial function (MOTS-c), collagen and tissue repair (GHK-Cu), and the hormonal decline of the growth-hormone axis (sermorelin, CJC-1295). There's no single "longevity peptide"; the choice depends on which mechanism you're targeting. Human evidence is strongest for GHK-Cu's skin effects and earliest for the cellular-aging peptides.

Blood work for an anti-aging cycle
Establish where you stand on the markers that shift with age, and track them on a cycle:
- Men's Anti-Aging Test (Light) — a focused panel of the hormones and markers that decline with age.
- IGF-1 — the readout for the growth-hormone axis; it falls with age and rises on an effective secretagogue cycle.
Test at baseline and again during the cycle.
Baseline tests before a peptide cycle
Check safety and response markers before starting. These tests help establish a baseline for liver, kidney, glucose, hormone, and recovery tracking.

FAQ
It depends on the mechanism. Epitalon is studied for telomeres and longevity, MOTS-c for mitochondrial and metabolic aging, GHK-Cu for skin and collagen, and sermorelin/CJC-1295 for age-related growth-hormone decline.
Epitalon is the peptide most associated with longevity research, studied for telomerase and circadian effects, though the human evidence is early. MOTS-c targets mitochondrial aging.
Sermorelin has an established prescription pathway. Epitalon, MOTS-c, and injectable GHK-Cu are moving toward compounding-pharmacy access through the 2026 regulatory process. Work with a licensed provider.
A focused anti-aging hormone panel and IGF-1, which falls with age and rises on an effective growth-hormone-releasing cycle. Test at baseline and again during the cycle.
Yes — GHK-Cu has the most direct evidence here for collagen synthesis and skin remodeling, used both topically and as an injectable. Compare routes and use cases in the skin and hair guide.
